No specific purpose really, but you may as well flirt with the good CAPTAIN for a bit. Hopefully you're not too rusty....
JET: Why, hello there, sailor.
MANBREATH: Hello there, yourself, beautiful. Is it that obvious that I'm a sailor?
JET: Is it that obvious that I'm beautiful?
MANBREATH: First thing that struck me, actually.
JET: That's not the last thing that'll strike you if you're not careful.
MANBREATH: Oh? Are we talking you or lightning? 'Cause I've been struck by lightning once, and it doesn't strike the same place twice.
JET: But I'm not lightning. I'm thunder. Jill Thunderson, to be exact.
MANBREATH: I'm Manbreath Threeplank, mighty pirate.
JET: Mighty handsome pirate.
MANBREATH: Mighty kind, ma'am. Mighty kind.
OK, well, that's a good flirt. (Also, you notice that he has a small GOLD KEY hanging on a NECKLACE.) Are we going anywhere with this flirting or do we let him go?

convince the captain to trade you his key and chest for 2 of your items "congratulations you got extra space to store stuff"
Give MAP a DETAILED GLANCE.
JUDGE the degree to which the CAPTAIN may be CONTROLLED AND MANIPULATED via FLIRTING.
Additionally, JUDGE SELF-CONTROL of flirting. How ATTRACTED is Jet to this captain? How much could she be CONTROLLED AND MANIPULATED herself?
The KEY against MANBREATH'S CHEST probably goes to MANBREATH'S CHEST. Since that's currently under guard by more than three pairs of eyes, going for either just now might be a bit premature. Though, if you really want to try, Jet might offer him her LOVELY PAIR OF COCONUTS(HELLS) in exchange for that ROD tucked through his BELT.
Sticks are very useful, after all, for tucking under chains and lifting them over heads.
....that said, we could just ask for the KEY. MANBREATH comprehends "ADVENTURER," so he might just have a SIDEQUEST that JET could do while she figures out a way to take him out of the running.
Is there a time crunch for the election(?) of a new pirate ruler, or are we safe for the moment?
