See if the closet has any secret passages. Something that leads behind the pictures with the shifty eyes...
Baring that, play the recording. AVOID the doorway with the clawmarks.
Take the proffered COCKTAIL.
Oooh! There's a banister railing upstairs. Good puzzles happen with banister railings, like turning the odd numbers alternating quarter turns to open secret passages and stuff.
Playing the VOXCO sounds like a good idea. Any way to check the vase?
